Flash Alert! Flash Alert! Flash Alert!

A trip out of station today, on the number 15 bus along to Old Billingsgate Market. An out-of-station gig means I have to take everything with me as popping back to base is not an option.

I got there early because space is really restricted and I wanted a great spot. I arrived at the venue 0930am, was second in the queue and it was not till after 11am that many more came.

We entertained ourselves chatting and catching up while watching the preparations inside the building. The stairs got the red carpet fitted after 1pm, but  no barrier for fans till after 530pm. That caused a ruction. Security moved everyone to the other side and gave no priority to us early arrivers who ended up at the back. My fanline friends were miffed. As I have a job to do for you dear viewer, I used my press card and managed to move to the outside press pen with only four of us there – the accredited press were all indoors. Result.

It was well dark when arrivals started and I couldn’t help but think a few lights would have been welcome to let fans and stars see each other. All we had was the intermittent glow of headlights from cars passing and the limos dropping off guests.

Celebs were happy to sign and pose for the crush of fans eager to see them. With arrivals over, a few fans stayed to catch stars coming out for fag and departing after the show. Not I. My sister channel (lsq.tv) was covering the winners press conference so there was no need for me to hang around. I accompanied my mates back to Leicester Square to check on the Tron premiere that we’d missed in favour of the Billingsgate gig. We were unlucky. Tron arrivals were over – no action there. Weary after a long day I headed  back to base for a warming by the fire and some chow leaving  a few of the fanline faithful to catch celebs coming out of the Tron screening.
